Abstract
1469573 Valves TOMADO BV 10 Sept 1974 [10 Sept 1973] 39502/74 Heading F2V In a safety valve 1 for a pressure vessel where a closure member 6 is moved to an open position by excess internal pressure, a wall with grooves 9 is provided against which the closure member bears in its open position and the part of the closure member adjacent the grooves is resilient such that flow through the grooves which forms part of the through-flow is increasingly restricted by increasing internal pressure. The closure member as in Fig. 2 is preferably manually resettable. A check valve is provided downstream of the grooves which comprises an elastic ring 13 seated in an annular groove into which passageways 11 from the grooves lead. A skirt 14 is held between the body member 2 and the plug 7 to deflect the flow stream downwards. A member 10 for resetting the closure member also acts as an indicator.
