Abstract

1468823 Cleats BICC Ltd 24 May 1974 [25 May 1973] 25216/73 Heading E2B A cleat for securing-and supporting a cable on a bar or other supporting member comprises two separately formed parts 1, 2 each consisting body portions 3, 4 and jaw portions 7, 8, the body portions having co-operating surfaces 13, 14 which, when the portions are secured together abut to form sliding fulcra, one part then being urged to pivot with respect to the other part. As shown, the part 1 is secured to a support by the use of a bolt 9 and a nut 18, the body portion 4 of the part 2 engaging in a recess 15 in the body portion 3 of the part 1 to prevent relative pivotal movement about the axis of the bolt 9; ridges 19 on the part 1 co-operate with the support. In a modification, the co-operating surfaces 13, 14 are respectively convex and concave, or a "knife-edge" abutting a surface.
