Abstract

1468096 Grinding BLACK & DECKER MFG CO 31 Jan 1975 [1 Feb 1974] 4287/75 Heading B3D [Also in Division B5] A machine tool, such as a circular saw or angle grinder, of the type having a rotary cutting tool 1 which projects through a work-contacting shoe 4, has a first hood 2 at least partially surrounding the part of the cutting tool above the shoe 4, a riving knife 6 and a second hood 8 carried by the riving knife and positioned below the cutting tool, the second hood 8 having a suction port 7 for connection to a dust extraction system. The first hood 2 may be connected by a suction port 5 thereon to the same dust extraction system. The riving knife is adjustable and detachable and is provided with a lug 11 for holding in an inoperative position a swinging hood if such is fitted to the tool.
