Abstract

1468055 Testing filters AMERICAN AIR FILTER CO Inc 19 Nov 1974 [21 Nov 1973] 50086/74 Heading G1B An apparatus for determining the efficiency of a carbon type fluid filter comprises an ozone generator located in the fluid path upstream of the filter and means for detecting the ozone in the fluid both upstream and downstream of the filter. A suitable ozone generator includes a plurality of ion generating electrodes in alignment with and spaced from apertures in an earthed plate. A suitable apparatus is shown in Fig. 1 and comprises inlet conduit sections 2a and 2b, an ozone generator in housing 11 and including a metallic earthed plate 12 and ion generator 14, fan 10, carbon type fluid filter 8, ozone sensing elements 26 and 30 and ozone detecting device 28.
