Abstract
1467472 Desalination apparatus NOBUO MARUICHI 18 June 1974 26976/74 Heading B1B Desalination apparatus comprises at least three dish-shaped evaporating/condensing elements (2) coaxially superimposed about a vertical axis, each terminating at their lower innermost ends in upstanding walls (5) which define inverted frusto-conical openings (4) thus forming a contiguous axial passage through the structure, a salt-water feed tube (14), a discharge pipe (7) leading from each element to the next lower element, a concentrate outlet pipe (8), means (12) for heating the lowermost element, and a drain receiver (10) for the removal of desalinated water. The undersides of each element may be provided with a condensation and drop inhibiting layer e.g. metallic mesh.
