Abstract

1467159 Electromagnetic switches SQUARE D CO 8 April 1974 [19 April 1973] 15515/74 Heading H1N An electromagnetic contactor comprises a coil 48 on a bobbin 72 having a cylindrical passage 80 axially aligned with openings 50, 63 in end pieces 24, 62 fixed to the contactor frame 40 and a plunger armature 82 having a portion which extends outside the passage in which portion is a cavity in which is moulded at least a portion of an insulating movable contact carrier 104 carrying movable contacts co-operating with fixed contacts mounted on an insulating support 14 having an aperture 148 through which the portion of the movable contact carrier extends. The fixed and movable contacts can form normally closed or normally open contacts. Stop surfaces 70, 184 limit the movement of the plunger which is damped. Two contactors may be mounted side by side, Fig. 1, not shown, and joined and electrically interconnected by triangular metal conductor members which support between them a specially shaped are-chute interposed between the contactors.
