Abstract
1466154 Polyester-polycarbonate moulding Compositions TEIJIN Ltd 27 March 1974 13660/74 Heading C3R A moulding composition comprises (1) 100 parts by weight of a polyester derived from a glycol component at least 70 mol per cent of which is tetramethylene glycol and an acid component at least 70 mol per cent of which is terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, a naphthalene dicarboxylic acid, or an ester-forming derivative thereof, the components having been polymerized with a titanium compound catalyst, (2) 5 to 100 parts by weight of a polycarbonate and (3) 0À01 to 3 parts by weight of a phosphorus compound which is a phosphorus acid or ester or metal salt thereof, a phosphine or a phosphine oxide. The compositions may also contain glass fibres. The examples describe compositions containing (1) polytetramethylene terephthalate or polytetramethylene-2,6-naphthalate, (2) the polycarbonate derived from bisphenol A and (3) various phosphorus compounds, e.g. triphenyl phosphite, monosodium phosphate, phenyl phosphonic acid and sodium dimethyl phosphinite.
