Abstract

146,326. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. May 21, 1918, [Convention date]. Sidings and junctions, tracks for.-Relates to rail arrangements for railway gun carriages which permit of traversing the gun by moving the carriage bogies along the rails, and consists in providing a circular set of rails on which one or both sets of bogies can be moved to give an all-round traverse. The gun carriage consists of a frame C on bogie sets D, E each comprising a large number of separate bogies which run on the circular set of rails A coupled by stays b<1> to a central platform B. When it is desired to traverse the gun the carriage is backed on to the circular track from an approach line a<1>. A traversing car J coupled to the bogie sets by links i<1> is employed for moving the carriage round the track. Figs. 5 to 7 show how the circular track is employed for traversing gun carriages of various lengths.
