Abstract

Virulent feline rhinotracheitis virus is attenuated by at least 7 serial passages in feline tissue cultures in a nutrient liquid at 30+/-2 DEG C. The attenuated virus is subjected to further serial passages in feline tissue cultures in a nutrient liquid at 32 to 37 DEG C until the titre reaches 10<4> to 10<7> TCID per ml. The liquid vaccine provides protection against viral rhinotracheitis in cats.
