Abstract

1462439 Gas-fired water heating boilers; boiler casings SAUNIER DUVAL 13 Dec 1974 [13 Dec 1973] 54036/74 Heading F4A A gas-fired water heating boiler designed to be secured to a wall comprises a casing defined by rear wall 5, top plate 4, side walls 3 and front wall 33, a U-shaped frame 1 connected via flanges 12 to the side walls and supporting burners 6, a heat exchanger 9 through which water to be heated is passed, and an exhaust gas collector hood 25 which is connected via an extractor fan 29 to an outlet 30; water pipes 20 passing in a gas-tight manner through the flanges 12 and the front wall 33 sealing against the edges of the side walls, the frame 1 and the top wall to define a sealed compartment into which combustion air is supplied by an inlet pipe 32 coaxial with outlet 30. Gas supply pipes and ignition and safety connections for the burners are mounted on a V-shaped support 15 sealingly engaged in a notch in the frame 1. The heat exchanger 9 has a downwardly extending skirt defined by a bent sheet 23 forming rear and side walls and a front sheet 22 and lugs 24 which rest directly or indirectly on the flanges 12. The skirt has a heat insulating refractory lining.
