Abstract

1461412 Seals IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 30 May 1974 [16 July 1973] 33717/73 Heading F2B A sealing device for effecting a seal on a web 12 of material being transferred between two zones of different air pressure, e.g. in vacuum transfer colour printing from a transfer paper to synthetic textile material, is constituted by a pair of rollers 60, 61, at least one of which is covered with a compressible material 61. Preferably, both rollers are covered with flexible polyurethane. Additional sealing strips 45, 47 may act directly on the coverings 61, 71 or on separate rollers 41, 43. End sealing plates (41, 42, Fig. 3, not shown) of nylon are spring loaded. The paper and textile may be passed together through a single pair of rollers or in case of thick textiles, such as carpets, through separate pairs of rollers.
