Abstract
1460944 Controlling servomotors STALLAVAL TURBIN AB 23 April 1974 [24 April 1973] 17647/74 Heading G3P A control valve unit 9 for an hydraulic servomotor 7 operating the main control valve 3 of a turbine 2, which valve unit is intended to control the flow of fluid to and from the servomotor for opening and closing the valve, characterized in that the unit comprises a first valve 13 Fig. 2 connected between the fluid source 8 and exhaust 17, and the servomotor, and controlled from a turbine regulator 10 for normal operation and a second valve 14 for rapid closing of valve 3, valve 14 being connected between servo 7 and exhaust 18 and being controlled by a signal 15. In operation, a pump 8 supplies hydraulic fluid to valve 13 which is controlled by regulator 10 transmitting analogue signals to the valve. A signal is also transmitted to valve 14 from regulator 10 through a threshold valve emitter 16 and OR-gate 15, and from a safety and alarm device 25. If there is a major or partial drop-out of load on the turbine driven generator network 5 the signal from system 10 to valve 13 is also connected through OR-gate 15 so that a signal greater than threshold value m actuates valve 14 and valve 3 is rapidly closed temporarily, until the signal falls below the level m. If there is a total drop-out of load, device 25 actuates valve 14 to close valve 3. In a modification, valve 13 is split into two valves (19), (20) Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) throttling means (21), (22) or constant flow valves (23), (24) being provided.
