The metabolically active compounds correspond to the formula I or II <IMAGE> or <IMAGE> in which the symbols R1 to R8 have the meaning given in Patent Claim 1. They are prepared by condensation of corresponding phenols with aliphatic or aromatic aldehydes or dialkyl or alkyl aryl ketones.
