Abstract
1459069 Rust preventive coating compositions DAI NIPPON TORYO CO Ltd 19 March 1975 [23 July 1974] 11525/75 Heading C4A A coating composition comprises zinc powder and at least one alkali metal or ammonium silicate, the composition containing, as an additive to increase the pot life of the composition and to prevent or hinder the formation of white rust on a coating formed from the composition, a molybdate, a tungstate; a phosphomolybdate, a phosphotungstate or a mixture thereof. In the examples compositions comprising water glass, water, sodium molybdate, zinc powder, ammonium molybdate, zinc molybdate, calcium molybdate, strontium molybdate, iron molybdate, barium molybdate, sodium tungstate, potassium tungstate, ammonium tungstate, calcium tungstate, sodium phosphomolybdate, sodium phosphotungstate, lithium silicate and ammonium silicate are coated on iron substrates and shot blasted steel plates.
