Abstract

1459053 Roller blinds I NAKAMURA 12 Dec 1974 53759/74 Heading A4B A roller blind assembly comprises a roller 10 rotatably supported by a pair of wall or ceiling mountable fixing brackets 18 through the intermediary at one end of a coupling member 20 and at the other end an operating card pulley member 49, each of the members 20, 49 having an outwardly extending shaft 48 which is rotatably supported in a horseshoe-shaped bearing 38 extending from a central region of a plate-like portion 22 of the associated fixing bracket 18, each portion 22 having peripheral flanges 24, 32 provided in two straight portions 28, 30 with recesses 31 used selectively to receive screws for wall or ceiling mounting and in a curved portion 32 with a pair of openings 34, 36 used selectively to allow passage of the operating card 54, the curved portion 32 also having an access opening 40 through which the shaft 48 is passed to be fitted into its bearing 38. The coupling and pulley members 20, 49 have tubular portions 42 with longitudinal grooves 44 which key with ribs 15 on the interior of the roller 10. The upper end 16 of the blind 12 extends through a longitudinal slit 14 in the roller and is retained by beading in its edge. The enlarged lower end of the blind is fitted within a weighted member 64 and is secured by pins 70. A split ring spring 56 holds the card 54 in contact with the pulley.
