Abstract
1458720 Housing for positive temperature coefficient resistors SIEMENS AG 31 Dec 1974 [7 Jan 1974] 56088/74 Heading H1K A synthetic resin housing 1 for a positive temperature coefficient resistor, e.g. for controlling demagnetization in colour TV receivers comprises a cup shaped casing 2 with a cover 3; the inner wall being grooved at 4 at its open end to receive the bevelled periphery of the cover. Ribs 5 of the inner wall of the casing space a combination of two resistors 6, 7 therefrom whose connections 9, 10, 11 are led out of slot 8. Square openings 12, 13 are formed centrally of the casing and cover and connections 9, 11 have spring contact lugs in point contact with the resistors without soldering. Pins 15 project from the spacer ribs at the open end of the casing to engage corresponding recessed openings of the cover, and are deformed plastically under heat to retain the latter. Ribs 16 transversely of the spacer ribs reinforce the casing. The device may be automatically assembled and the casing and cover may be, e.g. of fibreglass reinforced polyamide, polycarbonate, or polysulphone. A single positive temperature coefficient resistor may be used.
