The slides are removed from the magazine 8 one by one, from the lower end of the stack 9, as described in the earlier Specification. The slider 1 has a nose 1f at one end, which is engaged in a fork-like end 13a of the threearmed lever 13. This is pivoted on a pin 14, and has at its lower end a pin 13e which engages in a cam slot 15a in the cam plate 15. A latch 16 is pivoted on cam 15 by a pin 18, and is urged clockwise by a spring 23 to abut against a cranked end 11a of a release lever 11. A lug 16a of latch 16 extends through a cut-out 15b in the cam plate to a region below the plate where it can engage a ratchet wheel (20), Fig. 4 (not shown). The release lever 11 is drawn clockwise by a spring 22. Fig. 1 shows the initial position. When lever 11 is pivoted anticlockwise by pressing the handle end 11c downwards, its end 11a disengages from latch 16, which is then pivoted clockwise by spring 23.
