Abstract

1454900 Turf scarifier; aerating turf SISIS EQUIPMENT (MACCLESFIELD) Ltd 11 Nov 1974 [10 Nov 1973] 52280/73 Headings A1B and A1F A turf scarifier (shown in the transport position) comprises saw-tooth rotary cutters that are spaced transversely of the scarifier by intervals no greater than 2" and which are driven by the ground wheels at an angular velocity greater than but opposite to the ground wheels and such that each slit is continuous and has a series of maximum depths spaced longitudinally by no more than 3". The cutter assembly can be swung into the transport position against the bias of spring 42 and latched by arm 62. The height of the cutters can be adjusted by roller 14 and roller 17 lifts the cutters over bumps. More than one scarifier can be gauged together. The teeth of adjacent cutters may be staggered. The quotient of #D and NR is 3"; where D is the diameter of each ground wheel, N is the number of cutter discs and R is the ratio of the discs' and ground wheels' angular velocities.
