Abstract

1453535 Cracking C 4 olefins BP CHEMICALS Ltd 14 April 1975 [7 June 1974] 25336/74 Heading C5E Ethylene and propylene are produced by cracking a hydrocarbon feedstock comprising C 4 olefins in the presence of steam and hydrogen. The feedstock may be a C 4 suffinate containing saturated and unsaturated C 4 hydrocarbons. Steam and H 2 may each be present in a mole ratio of 1 : 5 to 5 : 1 based on the feedstock. The cracking may be carried out 700-900‹ C.
