Abstract
1453504 Membrane separations MONSANTO CO 13 March 1974 11215/74 Heading B1X A process for the separation of a soluble metal-containing compound from a liquid organic solution comprises contacting the solution under pressure against a first side of an acrylonitrile copolymer permeation membrane, the pressure being greater than the total pressure on the opposite side of the membrane and recovering from the opposite side of the membrane a liquid organic solution containing a reduced amount of metal-containing compound. Examples relate to the recovery of catalysts comprising a complex of iridium with carbonyl, phosphine and iodide; and complexes of cobalt, of maganese, and of copper with unspecified radicals. The membrane may be mounted in a wire mesh frame or used as hollow fibres.
