Abstract

1453392 Oxirane derivatives INSTITUT DE RECHERCHES CHIMIQUES ET BIOLOGIQUES APPLIQUEES 10 March 1975 [11 March 1974] 10683/74 Heading C2C [Also in Division C5] Novel oxirane derivatives of the general formula wherein B is H or CH 3 and A is a saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing at least 15 carbon atoms, and geometric isomers thereof are prepared by reacting an alkene of the general formula CH 3 ACH = CHB with an excess of a peracid at 15-25‹ C. Pharmaceutical compositions, suitable for the treatment of secretory disorders of the prostate gland, comprise, as active ingredient, at least one oxirane derivative of the first general formula above, together with a physiologically acceptable carrier or diluent.
