Abstract

1452363 Stacking sheets HARRIS CORP 24 Sept 1974 [14 Jan 1974] 41449/74 Heading B8R Apparatus for stacking folded boxes comprises an elevator 18 arranged to descend incrementally as it receives the boxes from conveyers 14 and 16, a pusher 88 arranged to deliver a completed stack on to a further conveyer 20 at the lowermost position of the elevator and a series of fingers 154 movable to a position above the stack to intercept boxes as a completed stack is being removed. The stack is squared during formation by jogger plates 68 and is maintained in a compressed condition by air from a blower 60. The pressure air is also directed through fingers 154 towards the stack when the fingers are extended. A vertically adjustable sub-frame 12 supports a further conveyer with an angled lead-in section 12 to maintain the stack in a compressed condition as it is forwarded. A counter determines when a stack is completed.
