Abstract
1451599 Biological reagent WELLCOME FOUNDATION Ltd 3 Oct 1973 [4 July 1972] 31310/72 Heading G1B A biological reagent for use in the identification of the species of origin of a mammalian or avian body fluid comprises adsorbent inert particles sensitized with antibodies raised, against a serum protein of a first species of mammal or bird, in a second species of mammal or bird of a different genus to that of the first species. The inert particles may be of silica, bentonite, charcoal, alumina, kaolin, acrylic acid polymers, or polystyrene latex. A test kit for the above identification comprises a kit of two vessels, one vessel containing the above reagent, the other vessel containing a buffer such as glycine-sabine.
