Abstract

1450803 Junction-circulators SIEMENS AG 12 Oct 1973 [30 Oct 1972] 47708/73 Heading H1W The junction of a strip line junction-circulator is matched to the branches by a layer of dielectric material between the gyromagnetic element and the junction. The circulator comprises a gyromagnetic disc 6 surrounded by an annulus 1 of dielectric (e.g. ceramic) material bearing, on one side, branch lines 4 and, on the other, a ground plane conductor 3. The ground plane and the junction are completed by conductive layers of, e.g. silver on the inner faces of magnetic pole shoes 2, 2<SP>1</SP> these layers being connected to the ground plane and the branch lines by layers of solder 5. Matching is provided by one or both of the layers 7, 7<SP>1</SP> between the element 6 and the pole shoes. These are made of a material, e.g. P.T.F.E., having a dielectric constant less than that of the element 6. The magnetic circuit is completed by a yoke 8.
