1449935 Oxamic acid derivatives AMERICAN HOME PRODUCTS CORP 14 March 1974 [23 March 1973 7 Aug 1973] 44841/75 Divided out of 1,449,934 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] Ethyl 2<SP>1</SP> - carboxy - 3<SP>1</SP> - methoxyoxanilate, ethyl 31 - methoxy - 2<SP>1</SP> - methoxycarbonyloxanilate, ethyl 2<SP>1</SP> - carboxy - 41 - methoxyoxanilate and ethyl 4<SP>1</SP>-methoxy-2<SP>1</SP>-methoxycarbonyloxanilate are prepared by reacting ethyl oxalyl chloride with 6-methoxyanthranilic acid, methyl 6-methoxyanthranilate, 5-methoxyanthranilic acid and methyl 5-methoxyanthranilate respectively.
