Abstract

1448892 Window wipers CHRYSLER UNITED KINGDOM Ltd 7 March 1975 [24 April 1974] 18765/74 Heading A4F [Also in Division F2] A vehicle window wiper, particularly applicable to opening rear windows, has a wiper-blade assembly 28 at one end of a drive-shaft mounted in a window 10. The drive to the shaft is transmitted through a coupling formed by teeth 46, 35 which engage when the window is closed. In the open position shown a spring forces another set of teeth 34, 38 into engagement thus locking the shaft against rotation. This locking is released when the window is closed, the element having the teeth 34, 35 sliding axially on the splines 30. In another embodiment the coupling is formed by toothed frusto-conical elements Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown).
