Abstract
1448753 Anchoring nuts and bolts A FISCHER 21 June 1974 [23 June 1973 8 March 1974] 27650/74 Heading F2H In a method of anchoring a fastener 1 or 11 in a bore, the fastener comprising a tube closed at one end 1a or 11a, the tube is expanded to grip the bore by a rapid rise in internal pressure due to the formation of a solid foam 8 from a foam-producing liquid introduced into the tube. The fastener has at its other end 3 or 13 an external (Fig. 1) or internal (Fig. 2) screw thread. Immediately after the introduction of the foam-producing liquid, e.g. polyurethane, the open end 3 or 13 of the fastener is closed by a cap nut 4a or a bolt 19. The fastener is intended for securing a building component 5 or 15 to soft masonry 6 or a hollow chamber brick 16, the closed end of the fastener being pointed, as at 7, to facilitate penetration into soft or porous masonry.
