Abstract

1448584 Workpiece support in electro-plating LUCAS ELECTRICAL Ltd 20 Feb 1974 [3 April 1973] 15865/73 Heading C7B The support includes a casing with;an elongated slot for the insertion of a portion of an elongated strip workpiece made of a magnetic material such that during plating the bath is prevented from contacting the inserted portion, a terminal member for effecting external electrical connection, a contact piece in the casing electrically connected with the terminal and a magnet in the casing so disposed that it urges the inserted workpiece into contact with the contact member. As shown, cylindrical plastics casing 11, 13 has electrode rod 14 extending longitudinally, with a terminal 15 at one end. Alternate annular magnets 16 and steel contact annuli 17 are arranged on the rod. A plurality of slots 12 is arranged radially in the casing to receive a steel strip workpiece to be Au plated. The members 17 have grooves 18 adapted to receive the strip.
