Abstract

1448355 Staking leather BADISCHE MASCHINENFABRIK GmbH 7 March 1975 9679/75 Heading C6C A machine for mechanically processing (staking) leather and other flexible sheet material workpieces comprises reciprocatory tools 2 and 7 of plate form forming between them an operating zone 24 for the workpiece 25, the tools being vertically arranged to form a vertical operating zone, and above the operating zone at either side thereof there are provided driven rollers 5, 20 whose axes extend parallel to the direction of the width of the operating zone and serve to transport the workpiece through the operating zone. Preferably driving means 8 are provided for a reciprocating tool(s) at only one side of the operating zone, the opposite tool(s) being relatively fixed. The workpiece is laid into the operating zone for up to one half of its length whilst the tools are in the open position and the rollers withdrawn, whereafter the tools and the rollers are moved into the operating position, in which the length of workpiece situated in the operating zone is conveyed upwardly through the operating zone, whereafter the rollers and the tools are reopened, and the other half of the workpiece is laid into the operating zone and processed in a similar manner.
