Abstract

1447384 Instrument panels BRITISH LEYLAND UK Ltd 3 Feb 1975 [2 Nov 1973] 50917/73 Heading B7H In a vehicle instrument panel construction moulded from plastics material reinforcing members 11, 12 of zinc coated steel are bonded to the rear face of the panel by an adhesive having energy damping characteristics. As shown in Fig. 2 the adhesive is in the form of a bead of heat-curable neoprene containing a heating wire 14. When the reinforcing members 11, 12 are in position an electric current is passed through the wire 14 to enhance adhesion.
