1447348 Making I.C. engine push rods FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 14 March 1975 [11 April 1974] 10694/75 Heading B3A [Also in Division F1] A push-rod 1 for an internal combustion engine is made from welded or drawn tube with a seating at one end, the tube end being expanded by a rolling operation to form the seating 2<SP>1</SP>. An end portion 5 of the tube is preferably reduced to about two-thirds of its normal diameter by a rolling operation prior to forming the seating 2<SP>1</SP>.
