Abstract
1446792 Anti-skid braking systems TEKONSHA ENG CO 9 Sept 1974 39216/74 Heading F2F [Also in Division G1] An electronic brake control system for towed vehicles having electrically applied brakes comprises means for sensing deceleration of the vehicle, a first voltage output means controlled by the deceleration sensor providing a voltage signal proportional to the rate of deceleration, a voltage controlled oscillator 100 having a constant frequency output and a variable pulse width proportionally controlled by the voltage signal, and means for connecting the oscillating output to the brakes to produce a pulsed actuation thereof, the duration of the pulses being proportional to the rate of deceleration. Deceleration is measured by a pendulum which interrupts the light passing from a light emitting diode 92 to a photocell 94. The trailer brakes are energised via the towed vehicle stop-light switch 34 or a manual switch 110 and a diode 142 prevents energisation of the brakes when the stoplights are operated by an emergency warning flasher system.
