Abstract

1445862 Ornamenting furniture KOLPAK ANSTALT 6 Sept 1974 [6 Sept 1973] 42055/73 Headings A4H and A4U [Also in Divisions E1 and E2] A furniture article has a panel structure, such as a cupboard door or drawer front, comprising an open frame 1, Fig. 3 surrounding a back panel 4 and a transparent or translucent front panel 2, and two or more decorative panels 3 at least one of which is sandwiched between the front and rear panels 2, 4, the panels 3 being interchangeable to alter the appearance of the structure. As shown, to change the panel 3 immediately behind front panel 2, frame 1 is disconnected from back panel 4 by screws 9. In a modification Fig. 6 (not shown), the top section (21a) of the frame (21) is detachable, and the frame may include a rubber lining, the panels being slideable in the frame. The back panel may have hinges for mounting on the furniture article. In a modicication, Fig. 9, a roller blind 33 having sections of different decorative appearance is mounted between the front and rear panels 32, 34. The rollers 35, 36 are rotatably mounted in the frame which includes winding members 37.
