Abstract
1445525 Aluminium-base alloys DAIDO METAL CO Ltd 5 Feb 1974 05294/74 Addition to 1332532 Heading C7A An alloy composition which is particularly suited for use in bearings of internal-combustion alloys, consists, by weight of:- 3 to 40% tin greater than 5 up to 7.5% lead 0À1 to 3% antimony the balance being aluminium, and the lead content Y being dependent on the tin content X such that Y # 2,500 X<SP>2</SP> + 450 X + 1.75 In modifications, the composition may also contain 0.02 to 2% copper, a total of 0À02 to 5% nickel, magnesium, manganese, iron and/or silicon, and a total of 0.01 to 1% cobalt, vanadium, niobium or titanium. These alloys confer improved anti-seize characteristics on bearings without any loss in fatigue resistance or load durability. They may form a lining on a steel backing to provide the bearing surface.
