Abstract

1445234 Motor vehicle heating and ventilating systems FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 18 Feb 1974 [5 March 1973] 7235/74 Heading F4V In a motor vehicle, a heating and ventilating system comprises a centrifugal blower 2 having an impeller subdivided by a partition 3, a fresh air inlet 4, a recirculated air inlet 5, an air heating heat exchanger 9 and air supply ducts 7, 8 one for each side of the vehicle. The ducts 7, 8 are disposed one above the other and each is divided by a vertical partition 11 into a passage containing a portion of the heat exchanger 9 and a by-pass. Independently operable coaxial flaps 12, 13 are provided in the ducts 7, 8. The heat exchanger is, in use, supplied continuously with engine coolant.
