Abstract

1444969 Combine harvester grain discharge tube control INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO 29 Oct 1973 [27 Oct 1972] 50168/73 Heading A1F [Also in Division F2] A control device is provided for moving the grain delivery tube of a combine harvester between its working and load transport positions and also for controlling the operation of the tube auger such that the latter can only be operated when the tube is in its working position, and the tube can only be moved when the auger is inoperative. The grain tube 2, Fig. 2, is moved by a hydraulic jack 12 which receives fluid from a distributor under the control of a hand lever 5, the position of which also controls the engagement or disengagement of a tension roller 32 with a drive transmission belt 24 which transmits drive to the auger 21 from shaft 22 via pulleys 25, 27, 29. Moving the lever 5 to the left from its Fig. 8 neutral position not only slides a lock 81 to the left but also pivots a pin 17, Fig. 5 connected to jack fluid distributor 16. Such that the distributor supplies fluid to cause the jack to move the grain tube to its operative position. The lever is then returned to its middle neutral position and then in the direction f 2 to disengage it from a second lever 56 which controls the pin 17 and distributor positions. The lever 5 is then moved to an end recess 78, Fig. 8, such that a shaft 53, Fig. 5, rotates to apply tension to a clutdh control cable (37), Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) via arm 54 and lost motion couplinig 55, 59. The tension roller 32, Fig. 2 is thereby engaged with the slack belt 24 to effect drive of the auger. The auger is stopped as soon as the lever 5 is returned to a recess 79 with the tube still in the working position. Movement of the lever to the right in Fig: 8 then causes the jack to move the tube to its road ransport position and restores the lock 81 to its original position.
