Abstract

1442548 Closure for containers VISCOSE GROUP Ltd 20 May 1974 22406/74 Heading B8T A secondary closure device, for overlying a primary closure of a container, comprises a cylindrical portion 6 closed at one end by an end portion 7, the cylindrical portion 6 having a tongue 11, formed by a slot 12, which may be pulled to tear the cut 10 and subsequently the circumferential line of weakness 9 and so remove the secondary closure from the container. A groove 15 strengthens the tongue 11 and the cylindrical portion 6 is knurled at 8. The closure is formed from a deformable material such as plastics or metal. The primary closure is a plug comprising a body portion 1 and a head portion 2 having a knurled surface. The head portion 2 and the lower end of the body portion 1 are covered by metal foils 4, 5 respectively.
