Abstract

1442201 Valves P SADLER 26 March 1974 [28 March 1973] 14800/73 Heading F2V A valve for a vacuum pumping system has a rotary ball 27 with an L-shaped passage 28 which connects an outlet 26 to one or other inlet 20, 21 or neither. The ball is rotated about an axis passing through the outlet so that the passage 28 and any dead space in the valve are always connected to the outlet. The valve body has two outer parts, each carrying one of the valve seats 22, 23, and a central ball-carrying chamber part 25 sandwiched between the other two parts.
