Abstract

1440991 Aminobenzenes HOECHST AG 20 Aug 1973 [19 Aug 1972 9 March 1973] 39319/73 Heading C2C Aminobenzenes which are substituted by one or more halogen atoms, aliphatic sulphonyl groups or haloalkyl groups are prepared by hydrogenating the corresponding nitrobenzenes in the presence of a nickel catalyst in an aqueous phase having a pH of 6 to 7À5 and containing an oxy-acid of tri- or penta-valent phosphorus or boron, carbonic acid, or a C 1 to C 10 carboxylic acid and a sufficiently strong base or a salt of said acids and bases.
