Abstract

1440161 Fruit juice composition K NISHIYAMA 16 Jan 1974 [23 Jan 1973] 01992/74 Heading C6E [Also in Division A2] A fruit juice composition comprises 4À2 to 6À0 w/v% of sodium carboxymethylcellulose, 10 to 50 w/v% of a fruit juice and 3À1 to 5À0 w/v% of citric, lactic, malic or tartanic acids, in an aqueous medium. The composition is used for making milk drinks which comprise, byvolume 3 to 5 parts milk, 6À5 to 4À5 parts sugar, and 0À5 parts of the fruit juice composition, the pH of the milk drink being 3À6 to 4À5. The fruit juice may be apple, orange, peach, strawberry or grapefruit juice by addition fruit essence, colouring agents, flavourings (e.g. amino acids) and preservatives may be included. The milk may be fresh or reconstituted.
