Abstract
1440084 Hose AEROQUIP GmbH 14 Sept 1973 [16 Sept 1972] 43269/73 Headings F2P and F2G A hose comprises a core made of an elastomer, a sheathing comprising a plurality of layers of steel wire helically wound around the core and an outer covering wherein the ratio of the wall thickness of the core to the wall thickness of the sheathing is between 1 : 1À1 and 1 : 1À5. The hose may be attached to a hose clasp comprising, Fig. 1, a nipple 3a and an outer sleeve 5a which engages in a recess 9a of the nipple. Resilient rings 13a and 13a<SP>1</SP> are seated in grooves 11a and 11a<SP>1</SP>. When the hose is inserted into the clasp, a flange 27a engages the hose core and strips said core from the hose sheathing. The outer covering of the hose is stripped as far as the rings 13a. The hose sheathing is gripped by ribs 21a and grooves 23a and the sleeve can radially expand in the region of the groove 17a to accommodate displaced hose material. The hose may alternatively be attached to a clasp (Fig. 3) having a screw closure and comprising a nipple 1 and sleeve 11.
