Abstract

1339061 Olefin copolymer rubber compositions MONTECATINI EDISON SpA 13 Jan 1971 [14 Jan 1970] 1736/71 Heading C3P New polymer blends comprise (A) at least one EPDM-type polymer having a DSV above 2À3 and/or non-ethylene alpha-olefin content not exceeding 38% by weight and (B) at least one EPDM-type polymer having a DSV of less than 2À2, wherein in 100 parts by weight of A plus B there are 25-75 parts of A and 75-25 parts of B. EPDM-type polymers are defined as polymers of ethylene, at least one other alphamoonolefin and at least one non-conjugated hydrocarbon polyene. The polymers are blended by intensive mixing or by solution in e.g. benzene and recovery therefrom. The blends are vulcanizable and are used as pneumatic tyre tread stocks.
