Abstract
1338414 Electro-plating and production of copper wire KENNECOTT COPPER CORP 15 Dec 1970 [19 Dec 1969] 59565/70 Heading C7B High purity copper conductor wire for use at low temperatures is produced by electro-depositing copper on to a copper base wire, drawing the resultant wire to reduce it to its original diameter, repeating these steps till the electro-deposited copper forms at least 75% of the product wire, and thereafter annealing the wire. Electroplating may be carried out using as counterelectrode a copper tube, through which is passed the wire to be plated and a flow of electrolyte. A fluoborate or sulphate electrolyte may be used. The sulphate electrolyte may include glue, calcium lignosulphate, casein or thiourea.
