1338189 Piston and rod seals VEREINIGTE BAUBESCHLAGFABRIKEN GRETSCH & CO GmbH 10 May 1972 [18 May 1971 9 July 1971] 21680/72 Headings F2B and F2T A seal for the piston or rod of a door damper comprises an elastomeric ring 5 or 5<SP>1</SP> arranged in a channel with a pair of split rings 6, 7 or 6<SP>1</SP>, 7<SP>1</SP>, the two split rings contacting a sliding surface and abutting one another on their lateral faces, at least one of them carrying a dog 37 which projects into the gap 39 of the other split ring. The split rings may be made of polyamide or metal.
