Abstract

1336924 Gas scrubbing EDWARD L BATEMAN Ltd 30 June 1971 30658/71 Heading B1R Apparatus for scrubbing gas comprises a casing formed into passages 27, 28, 31, 32 which extend between a gas inlet 11 and an outlet 12. The passages 28 and 32 have a decreasing cross-sectional area in the direction of the flow of gas to effect anincrease in flow velocities and thus to enhance the turbulence produced in the regions 29 and 33 where the passages intersect. Spraying pipes 36 and 37 are provided at the entrances to passages 27 and 31 whereby liquor in the form of a spray may be added to the gas streams. Baffles 38 and 39 are provided above the spray pipes.
