Abstract
1336481 Moving-coil transducers PIONEER ELECTRONIC CORP 8 Nov 1971 [9 Nov 1970] 51838/71 Heading H4J [Also in Division H1] In a method of magnetizing a pot-type magnetic circuit, e.g. for loud-speakers or microphones, comprising a retentive permanent magnet 4 surrounded by a non-retentive ferromagnetic yoke 3 for minimum magnetic leakage; due to residual magnetization of the yoke, the circuit is magnetized in a strong field between poles 2, Fig. 1, and then similarly magnetized in reverse direction by a field of lower intensity (Fig. 2, not shown) such as to demagnetize the yoke without substantially affecting the operating point of the permanent magnet; and as a result to increase the airgap flux. In the magnetizing circuit (Fig. 9, not shown) a coil exciting opposed poles is switchable to a D.C. source in alternate senses; first direct for initial magnetization and second through a series resistance for removal of the residual magnetism.
