Abstract
1336032 Dyeing and optical brightening preparations containing amine salts of anionic dyestuffs BAYER AG 19 Oct 1971 [20 Oct 1970] 48522/71 Headings D1B and D1P [Also in Division C4] Dyeing preparations contain salts of anionic dyestuffs with polyhydroxyalkylamines of the formula R 1 -N(R 3 )-R 2 wherein R 1 and R 2 are each H, C 1-6 alkyl or C 1-6 mono- or di-hydroxyalkyl and R 3 is polyhydroxyalkyl optionally substituted by alkoxy or formyl, with the proviso that if the dyestuff is an azo dye it is free from carboxyl groups. The preparations can be stable, concentrated solutions of the salts in water, an aqueous-organic medium or an organic solvent or solvent mixture. The aqueous and aqueous-organic solutions can contain solubilizing agents such as urea and dextrins or surface active agents. Dry dyeing preparations which may contain diluents and/or dispersing agents are also referred to. The preparations are used for dyeing and printing materials containing OH groups and nitrogen, preferably of a textile nature, especially materials of native or regenerated cellulose such as cotton, rayon and paper, as well as wool, silk, leather, synthetic polyamides and polyurethanes. Included in the expression "anionic dyestuffs" are anionic optical brighteners, of, for example, the stilbene, 1, 3-diarylpyrazoline, triazole, coumarin and oxazole series.
