Abstract
1336024 Liquid developing apparatus FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 7 Jan 1971 [9 Jan 1970] 867/71 Heading G2H A conductive belt 5 carries a sheet 2 through a tank (not shown) containing toner in a liquid carrier and toner is deposited on the sheet under the influence of an electrode 14; electrode 14 being divided into portions which are energized in turn as the sheet passes. This prevents toner deposition on belt 5 in areas which the sheet has passed or not yet reached. The apparatus is particularly intended for reversed development of electrostatic latent images although it may be used to uniformly coat a sheet for use as a donor member. Electrode 14 may comprise rollers (26), Fig.4 (not shown). The portions of electrode 14 may be energized with different potentials Fig.5 (not shown) to compensate for image decay. As shown, the leading edge of sheet 2 is sensed by an infrared detector 12' which keeps a magnetic recording head (19), Fig.3 (not shown) energized until the trailing edge passes. The recording head (19) magnetizes a tape (23) which passes a succession of reading heads (25) connected to respective switches 15 to control energization of the portions of electrode 14.
