Abstract

1334431 Valves UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY 14 April 1972 [5 May 1971] 13371/71 Heading F2V A sampling valve comprises a fixed plate 2 having a number of circumferentially placed sampling ports and a central port 3 connectible to a sampling location D, and a movable plate 7 having a passage 8 to selectively connect the central port 3 to one of the sampling ports, there being provided a groove 12 in the plate 7 which exposes the sampling lines L to flushing gas pumped into the housing via a port 1a. To sample a different line, a solenoid 17 is actuated to lift the plate 7 which is then rotated the required amount by a stepping motor 16. The solenoid is then deactivated. The central line 6 is also flushed when the plate 7 is lifted via passage 8.
