Abstract

1334304 Rotary compressors KUHLAUTOMAT VEB 8 May 1971 13871/71 Heading F1F In a meshing-screw compressor male and female rotors 3, 4 are supported by the inner surface 2 of a housing shell 1 and urged towards an end cover 20 at the high-pressure end by oil pressure in chambers 23, 23' for thrust bearings 25, 25', which are carried by rods 24, 24' fixed to the rotors. To prevent contact between the rotors and the surface 2 and a flat surface 19 on the cover 20 oil is injected through a channel 14, wedge-shaped gaps for the oil being provided between the radially-outer faces 5, 6 of the rotors and the surface 2 and between radial surfaces 11, 12 on the rotor end-faces 9, 10 and the surface 19. The gaps are widest on the leading sides thereof so that hydrodynamic oil-films develop therein when the rotors rotate. The rotor 3 has a splined bore 21 for a driving-shaft 27.
